Domain Name transfer

  I just cancelled my website which had a domain name through my WordPress Blog website. I now need to have this domain name unlocked… made public and get an authorization code in order to have the domain transferred.

  Hey there,

  If you’re wanting to transfer your domain, you should never cancel it at your current host because once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.

  However, the account that you are contacting us from does not have the domain subscription. I do not see any upgrades under this account. Can you contact us from the account that has the website that you canceled?

  Darnell, thank you so much for contacting me and thank you for your information. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on some of the information you provided, but I do not understand. It sounds like you are saying that the domain I contacted you from was not valid? If that is the case, when I do a domain search for the domain I want, it says it is not available. The registrar shows it obtained by WordPress and when I do a website search for that name (www.tastefortravels.com), it shows up online? I’m sure I’m not making much sense, but I hope you understand my questions. Thank you in advance. And yes, if you could contact the registrar to see if they can restore the domain, or make it available for me to transfer, that would be wonderful.

  Hi there,

  It sounds like you are saying that the domain I contacted you from was not valid?

  There is no history of any purchase under the account that you are contacting us from. tastefortravels.com is under a different WordPress.com account than ckowack. Do you happen to remember creating another account?

  I see that the domain is still active, so all you need to do is log into the account associated with the domain and you should be able to unlock it for transfer without any problem.
