Domain name transfer

  I just purchased a domain name from Go Daddy and I would like to use it on my Word Press site. Its TLD is a .com. Would I be able to do this? I purchased the domain name within the past week.

  Hi revdrkaren,

  Sure! Newly registered domains are transfer locked for the first 60 days (this is standard practice), which means it won’t be possible to transfer the domain away from GoDaddy during that time. However, it can be connected to WordPress.com with domain mapping:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Once the 60 days have passed, you can continue using domain mapping (and keep the domain registered with GoDaddy) or transfer the domain to WordPress.com and renew it through us going forward:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
