Hello,
I have already a domain name and website with Shopify but i would like to start using worldpress. How ever can i first start building the wordpress website and then when finished transfer the domein name to the wordpress website?

You certainly can get your site set up here before switching your domain over!
When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.
If you are moving an existing site, this guide to migrating your site to WordPress.com may also be helpful:
