  I currently have a domain name with a different provider who does my web hosting.. will I need to transfer it to WordPress as I’ve just paid web hosting fees?

  Hi there,

  If you’re hosting your site somewhere else, then you don’t need to do anything with us – WordPress.com is also a hosting provider for the WordPress software, so you would only need to point or transfer the domain to us if you wanted to host your site with us as well.

  If you’re hosting your site somewhere else, then you’d be using the open source WordPress software instead, made by the community on WordPress.org. If you need help or support documentation for using that software at another hosting provider, you can see https://wordpress.org/support//
