Domain Names and Monthly Upgrade Plans

I have a blog on the free plan right now, and am looking into upgrading to the monthly personal plan. The plan says it comes with a ‘custom domain’, but then all the other domain options, like adding a domain, or using a domain hosted elsewhere, say they only come with the premium plan. I don’t know if this is just false advertising or if you really do get a free domain on the personal plan, but the domain registration doesn’t pop up under the personal plan. I don’t want to upgrade to the personal plan and then not get a domain name.

You absolutely do get a domain registration included with the Personal plan. If you are seeing references to just the Premium plan, that sounds like a page that has not been updated properly.
