domain not mapping, new site

    Hi there,

    I used to have a privately hosted wordpress site on third party servers pointed to by ryeview.info until the server got shut down last year. The domain “ryeview.info” is wholey owned by myself.

    I am trying to get it up and running again, starting from scratch and hosted by you guys (I’ve already purchased a 12 month subscription), however when I try to map the domain, it is displaying “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site” despite that site not existing anymore.

    My username for this site was “ryeview”, however, it was not set up with a specific email address at the time, and as such I cannot recover this account.

    Can you please help me set up this domain, that I own, with my new account as I cannot access this previous account.

    Also, I see you’ve resolved this; your domain is in fact currently mapped to the site you purchased. There’s just one step left, and that’s updating the name servers so the domain points here:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    If you need to move over any DNS settings before that, here’s how:
