  Hi am I right in understanding that, although I can’t transfer my domain name for a few months because it is new, if I set up a website through WordPress, they can still use it?

  Hi there,

  If you just recently bought a domain somewhere else, you can still use it with your WordPress.com site via our domain mapping upgrade, yes. That lets you connect the domain here while it’s still registered somewhere else.
