  Hi! I had purchased a domain on this site last March. I deleted the site and no longer have access to the domain. I am wanting to have access again to this domain, particularly since I had it registered until March 2019.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there,

  If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

  If you recently registered the domain, you have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.

  Okay, I’ve restored your domain and site, and you’ll now be able to follow the instructions Darnell linked to above to start a domain transfer from My Site ->Domains.

  Once you’ve started that, please don’t cancel or delete anything on our end. Domain transfers typically take around a week to complete, and your new domain provider will notify you when it does. At that point the domain will be automatically removed from your account with us, and then it will be safe to delete the WordPress.com site again.
