Domain Parked (cancelled and want to use elsewhere)

  Hi there!

  I signed up to wordpress to host a simple cheap site at http://www.cupolastudios.co.uk, since buying the domain on WordPress i realised it’s a better option for me to buy this domain via Go Daddy and redirect it to a site i’ve already built in Wix.

  I’ve read that domains are supposed to be parked for 5 days and then they are available to buy elsewhere however this domain has remained parked by wordpress for some time now! Could you possibly free it up for me to use elsewhere?

  Appologies i don’t want to this via your services! I’ve just found better options for me needs elsewhere :)

  Hi Jamie,

  The 5 days is only true for domains canceled within the refund window.
  I can see that yours was canceled after that time – that’s why you never received a refund for it (only for the plan part of your subscription), and that’s why the domain was not released yet.

  Taking all that into account, I’ve restored the domain back to your site. You can now change its DNS records to point it to a site hosted elsewhere. After 60 days since the registration, you’ll also be able to transfer it to another registrar. Here you’ll find step-by-step instructions:

  I understand this is not what you wanted but, I took the liberty of restoring the domain so it wouldn’t enter redemption – it would then cost an additional $80 to restore it if needed. Also, canceled domains are out of our control so we can’t know if and when they would be released to the public. It could potentially take months for you to be able to re-register your domain.
