Domain Pointing

  I own a domain through Dreamhost and pointed my domain name to my new free wordpress site. Then I tried to do it through WP to make sure it was done but it keeps trying to charge me 96 dollars. I don’t need all the bells and whistles, but why is it that my domain name is pointed at my site for free but you are trying to get 96 dollars out of me after I’ve already paid for the domain?

  You will need the Domain Mapping upgrade to properly use a custom domain with a WordPress.com site. Domain Mapping is included in all WordPress.com paid plans:
