Domain? Privacy?

    I was thinking of upgrading to premium account but I been reading on Domain privacy and how majority of personal details get saved on Icann. Would this apply even if my web adresss was name . wordpress com or this soloy for a custom domain?

    Is best to have host provider to use wordpress? Or can I just use wordpress. All I want is to blog but have access to the features given by premium

    Lastly I been reading alot stuff about wordpress security and plugins, is it necessary for a blog to use plugins for security? As only business one has option for adding plugins ?

    If you are using a standard ______.wordpress.com URL, then ICANN will not have any of your personal details.

    However, if you are using a domain privacy service (which we offer) for a domain registration, ICANN also will not have any of your personal details.

    Thank you for the reply, this has cleared up quite a bit. I have a following question, For premium it does not say backup is included? If I needed have backup. How would I? Or this just business plan ?
