Domain Publishing

I don’t understand how to publish my site to my domain. I don’t want to store my site at WordPress, I want to store it where I already pay my ISP. I thought I could build a site and use it at my ISP. I see Domain Mapping but it keeps asking for my credit card.
Is there a way to do this or do I have to pay WordPress an annual fee because I’m using their builder? I’d rather just pay for the software outright, that would be fine. I think I’m not understanding how this works. Help appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there,
If you want your site at the provider where you already have your domain, then you should not be doing or paying for anything on WordPress.com at all, as a site with them has no connection whatsoever to WordPress.com.
In that case you’d be using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org for your site.
Please contact your hosting provider’s support to find out the process for installing the WordPress software with them.
