Domain question
-
I’m taking over as editor of The Portland Review. Our domain was purchased through Word Press last year. I believe the previous editor converted theportlandreview.com to a personal blog (marshallandmagnes.wordpress.com). I would love to be able to use the same domain name, and I know it’s been relinquished, but when I tried to purchase the domain, it says it isn’t available and can’t be mapped.
Blog url: http://portlandreview.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

theportlandreview.com – is not registered here and is mapped to a holding site – that name belongs to whoever has registered it – the owner has opted for a private registration (do a whois for contact info) – you would need to get the name from them
marshallandmagnes.wordpress.com – belongs to the account that registered it – you would need to have them transfer it to you if you wanted to use it – no way for you to take it over (it looks like they stopped posting in June)
Lacking either of the two above options – use the domain name you have now (portlandreview.wordpress.com) and start using it and getting the new URL out into the public arena
