Domain registered with other provider and not trasferable for 3 months

    Hi,
    I’m a newbie and I got a new domain from iPage. I meant to host my blog there but quickly canceled my contract as they put links to 2. parties without my consent (on my brand new domain!).
    So now I own a domain but I cannot transfer it to wordpress for another 3 months (or so am I told). I would like to sign up for the Personal Package but I cannot go beyond the third step… HELP

    Hi there,

    What is the domain, please?

    New domains cannot be transferred for a period of 60 days after purchase. This is an ICANN regulation and applies no matter where you bought your domain.

    However, if the domain is still registered then you can point it to us in the meantime, and connect it to your site via our domain mapping upgrade included in all our paid plans:

    Once the 60 day transfer lock expires, you’ll then be able to transfer the domain to us.
