Domain registration

If I just purchased my domain name from another host and I transfer it, when will my domain need to renewed-2020 or 2021? The information on your site says that it extends the domain name for another year, trying to figure out the exact timeline.

Hi there,
If you register a domain today, it will be valid until 11 September 2020.
If you then transfer it to us, it will be renewed for another year, so then it will be valid until 11 September 2021.
Note that if you register a new domain now you won’t be able to transfer it anywhere until you’re owned it for at least 60 days. If you don’t have the domain yet, and you want to use it with a site on WordPress.com, it would be simpler to just register it with us from the start:
