  My domain expired. How do I get it back?

  Hey there,

  You canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5 day grace period.

  We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5 day period, but after that we no longer have control over it. So, depending on where you want to register the domain (with us or elsewhere), you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered. You can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until 60 days of registration hits (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications. Let me know.

  Thank you so much for getting back to me. I want the domain back but I haven’t decided on a host yet. So would it be possible for me to have the domain back and wait a few days before I decide if I am going to continue using WordPress or not?

  That domain has already been released and you can register it again through us or any other registrar.

  It still says that this domain has been taken when I try to register it on godaddy.com

  Hi there,

  The domain has been removed from our system, and deleted at the registry, but it could still take a day or two before it’s released into the pool of available domains again. I suggest you check at GoDaddy again later today, or else tomorrow.

  Hello,
  I still can’t get it. It’s unavailable on godaddy.com. Is there anyone I can get it back through WordPress?

  We’re speaking of basmamostafa.com, correct?

  If you don’t plan on using the domain for a WordPress.com site, you can register it at https://wordpress.com/domains/ – it shows as available there for me.

  If you want to use the domain with WordPress.com, you’ll need to buy a plan again as well, though.

  You might also want to contact GoDaddy and ask them why it doesn’t show as available on their end. I checked a few different providers and all show it as available. Only GoDaddy shows it as taken, so I suspect something might be broken on their end.
