domain renewal confusion

  I no longer want to use stilettowarfare.com as my domain name I have gone through godaddy.com and created and registered a new one. I am very confused by this whole process and dont understand why I could not use my previous one, but is there any way I may have the above domain changed to oienn.com without having to pay for another domain via wordpress?
