Domain/Subdomain

Hi everyone. The Ammonite is my brother’s blog for his poetry and other written works. Tragically, he passed away this year at just 23 years old. I’m his younger sister, Ava, and I’m now passionate about keeping this space alive, so his writing can be enjoyed by all.
I know little to nothing about managing a website, so please forgive me being clueless over what is probably an obvious fix. Alex’s domain name was always theammonite.com, and for (seemingly) no reason I can understand, navigating to this link displays the text: ‘Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.’
His blog can now only be accessed at theammonitecom.wordpress.com. I’ve tried messing around with Domain Upgrades, but I’m wary of changing anything without a backup, which I am also struggling to set up lmao!!!! If anyone can offer advice about how to safely return Alex’s website to theammonite.com, please lmk!!!!!! <3
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
It looks like that domain expired, and was removed from the site a few days ago.
I do see a renewal payment for it on 1 August, though. It’s possible that payment was already too late to get back the domain, in which case we’ll refund that payment to you, but it could also be an error on our end, so I’m going to follow up with our developers about that.

The domain has been recovered, and it is back under your account. :)
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
