DOMAIN SWITCH OVER

    Hello all ‘)

    i have my free domain with the wordpress.com attachment. I want to purchase the domain and get hosting from bluehost, which only host on wordpress.org.

    i went to create my account with bluehost, but am not able to register my domain (which i believe its because it’s already mine-through the wordpress ie: themanyrealms.wordpress.com)
    how do i get in contact with wordpress.com to have them point the name servers to bluehost? but also switch over to wordpress.org?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    The address https://themanyrealms.wordpress.com/ can’t be moved from WordPress.com. You could have purchased a custom domain and an upgraded plan right here at WordPress.com but instead it seems you wish to leave WordPress.com and create a new site using the WordPress.org software at BlueHost. The WordPress.com address can’t be moved but the contents of the site can. You need to export the contents of that site and then import the contents to a new site at BlueHost.     i do wish to move content over.

    an issue I’m coming across is being able to register TheManyRealms.com over at bluehost due to having my TheManyRealms.wordpress.com since ideally I’f i stood with WordPress.com and purchased the domain. It would be TheManyRealms.com. Should i completely deactivate TheManyRealms.wordpress.com site ?

    http://themanyrealms.com/ was registered three years ago. Unless it is you that already own the domain then it isn’t available. Deactivating your WordPress.com site which is a completely different address won’t alter that. Perhaps there is another extension you can use with “themanyrealms”?
