  Is it possible to start with a domain, and possibly transfer it over to a currently active domain later?

  Hi there,

  All sites on WordPress.com get a free WordPress.com or .blog subdomain when the site is created, that functions just like any regular subdomain, and your site is fully online and accessible at that subdomain (provided you set it to public).

  You can change that free address at any time, or replace it with a custom domain you either buy from us directly, or connect/transfer to us from somewhere else.
