domain transfer

    Hi, I have cancelled my subscription with wordpress.com, I realised I rather want to use wordpress.org and host the website elsewhere.
    However, when I try to use the same domain name it is taken, while I deleted my wordpress.com account. I need the authorization code to proceed to the transfer of domain, can you help, thanks a lot!

    Hi there,

    If you had a domain with us and you cancelled it, you stopped owning it the moment you cancelled it, and you cannot transfer a domain you don’t own.

    What is the domain? Depending on how long you owned it and when you cancelled it we might still be able to get it back for you, but we can only do that if the request comes from the account that owns the domain.

    If you also deleted that account, you’ll need to reply to the account closure email we sent you to ask that we reopen the account before we can restore the domain.
