domain transfer

    I currently manage my domain and website through GoDaddy. Not sure if I should transfer the domain or map the domain. I am reasonably happy with using GoDaddy to manage my website, however I find the cost for the website higher than I would like.

    If you are happy with GoDaddy managing your domain, what you need to do is map the domain to WordPress.com.

    Hi!

    Functionally, it really makes no difference. Both work equally well and will send users to your site when they enter your domain into their browser.

    What it really comes down to is if you have opinions on the ease of keeping your site billing in one place (one bill from WordPress.com vs a bill from WordPress.com and a bill from your domain registrar). Or if you have a particular reason to want to use an external registrar (perhaps you have many domains and want to keep them all registered in the same place).
