Domain transfer

  I would like to transfer my existing domain from wix to wordpress. It is a business website and I want to make sure it stays fully functional the entire time. How can I transfer it without disrupting service? I also need to make sure that the updated website is ADA compliant. Is there a guideline I can follow or do the WordPress design components follow the ADA guidelines?

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.
