domain transfer

  I purchased a domain with 1&1. Now I am interested in transferring it to be my primary wordpress domain. However, when I try to do that, wordpress only gives me the option of getting the premium plan at $99. That doesn’t make much sense, since I could have just gotten the basic plan for $36 a year with a domain thrown in. What gives?

  Hi there,

  We do not accept incoming domain transfers, but you could point the domain’s nameservers from your current hosting provider to WordPress.com. Our support page will guide you through the process of pointing your domain’s nameservers to us:

  You should be able to remove the $99 premium option and choose the $36 option, which will include the ability to map the domain you have registered over at 1&1 over to your site here at WordPress.com.
