Hello,
I’m trying to transfer my domain to BlueHost but by mistake I cancelled my domain and now I can’t change the server…
Is there anything I can do or is my domain lost for good? Thanks,

Hi Caitlin,
I’ve emailed our registrar to ask them to reverse the cancellation. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear from them.

Okay, your domain has been restored, but it’s currently suspended because the email address is unverified. I’ve sent you a separate email with the verification link. It will come from a @secureserver.net address.
Once you’ve verified the email address, let me know and I’ll check if anything else is needed before you can transfer your domain.

I’ve been trying to verify my email address for two weeks now… it won’t send and I’m at a lost for what to do about that

The verification email would have been sent to your domain contact email, which is a @outlook.com email. That is different from the Gmail address you’re using for your WordPress.com account.
If that email address is no longer valid, you’ll need to update your contact info via this page:
https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/caitmoriah.com/edit-contact-info/caitmoriah.wordpress.com
Update Contact Information for a Domain
You will need to update that in any case to be able to transfer the domain as well.
Please be aware that changing your email address could result in your domain being transfer-locked for 60 days if you don’t have access to the current @outlook.com email address any more – the opt-out option for the transfer lock is only sent to that address, not the new address.
In that case you’ll need to renew the domain with us, as it expires today, and then transfer it after 60 days have passed.
Also note that even though the domain expires today, there’s a two week grace period during which you should still be able to transfer it, or otherwise renew it without being charged a late renewal fee.

Hi
Thank you I was able to update my email information, but do have to wait 60 days to transfer it… is there any way at all I can fix this? I’m going to update my domain because it does expire today, but having to wait 60 days because I lost access to an email account seems unfair to me. Could you help in any way?
Thanks

There is no way around this. All domains on the web are regulated by an organisation called ICANN, and the 60 day lock for contact info changes is an ICANN rule. As much as I want to help you, there is no way to lift that lock.
You can point the domain to a different provider, even while it’s still registered here. To do that you’ll need to get Bluehost’s name servers and add them to your domain. Then your domain will show the Bluehost site until you are able to transfer it.
