Domain transfer?

  Hi, I decided to use wix instead of wordpress for my website. I bought a domain through wordpress and now I’m having trouble trying to use the domain for my wix website. Any and all help would be appreciated.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  I checked your account and you have cancelled your domain and deleted the site.

  If you want to use the domain again, we would need to try and recover it and bill for the domain costs. You would only be able to transfer it to Wix 60 days after the registration date.

  Let me know if you need any more information.

  Thank you for your response.

  I’m new to the whole domain business, but why can’t I just purchase the same domain if i canceled it?

  If the only way to use the domain is to buy it again through WordPress and then use it on wix, I’ll go ahead and do it. Please let me know the steps. Thank you

  Hi there,

  why can’t I just purchase the same domain if i canceled it?

  When a domain is cancelled, it moves through a few stages before being released back into the pool of available domains — once it has been released you can purchase it again somewhere else. If somebody else registers it before you, you will not be able to get it back again.

  You are welcome to wait until then if you would prefer, but I also wanted you to have the option to recover it before that happens. To recover it, I would need to send a payment request for $18.

  Hi there,

  Sure, I’ve just sent a payment request to the email address on your WordPress.com account. Once that has been paid I’ll contact our domain registrar.

  As you’ve already deleted your site I’ll need you to create another one under the same account (sdkfit) — I’ll restore the domain to that site so you can transfer it away.

  Thank you so much for your help. I made the payment.

  Do I have to purchase a plan or can I make a free site for you to be able to assign the domain to the site?

  Thanks for your payment, I’ve contacted our domain registrar and we usually hear back in 1-2 days.

  No need to purchase a plan, you can set up a site using the Free plan. I’ll let you know when I’ve had a response — then you can set it up :)

  The name servers are pointing to your Wix site — so visitors will now see that site when they visit the URL.

  If you create a new site in your account, I’ll add the domain to it. Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to manage the domain from your account.
