Domain Transfer

Hello, I need to move my domain to HostGator, but WP isn’t giving me that option. The only two options I have to transfer it to an WP administrator or to another WP account. Please help! I’ve reached out to HostGator as well.

I’ve already tried these steps and they do not give me the option to transfer my domain to hostgator. They only allow me to transfer to another WP admin.
I have multiple websites and all of my others are with Hostgator and I need kmichellebooks.com to be there as well. I’ve already paid for the hosting.
Please help!

Hi there,
I see that the auth code was sent to your email. Did you receive that auth code and send it to Hostgator? Once you do that, you have some steps you need to take on Hostgator’s end to finalize the transfer.
If you have done that, it may take a few days for the transfer to finalize, but you will need to confirm where you are in the part of the process from Hostgator’s end.

I did receive the code and I’ve reached out to Hostgator on the live chat, but never received a response. How am I supposed to send the code to HostGator when they aren’t a WP admin?
These are the only two options I have for transfer…

Transfer this domain to any administrator on this siteTo another WordPress.com site
Transfer this domain to any site you are an administrator on”I did renew my domain to see if that would help, but it wasn’t due to renew until next March.

You would need to add it under your Hostgator account as shown here:
I would reach back out to Hostgator support if you need assistance with any of those steps, but it does appear that the hangup on the transfer may be on their end.

I finally got ahold to someone at HostGator and they need the EPP code to initiate the transfer. For some reason, my domain registrar is with privatewho.is. I tried contacting them to get the EPP code and this was the response I got…
“A variable mismatch has been detected.”
I’m stuck…

The code that we sent to you via email is the EPP code that you need to initiate the transfer. Did you try giving them this code? We are your registrar, but we do make the registration details private (for your privacy) but you should have an EPP code already that you can use.
If that does not work, you may need to generate a fresh one and to do that you can follow the steps hear again to get a new EPP code sent to you via email. https://wordpress.com/support/domains/transfer-domain-registration/
