Domain transfer

Hi! I would like to just confirm the steps to take for domain transfer. I presently have a domain registered with Wix and am using Wix to manage my site. However, I would like to use WordPress instead moving forward. Should I or do I have to purchase the premium plan with WordPress prior or after effecting the transfer of domain? I understand from the Help page that I need to unlock the domain and request for an authorisation code to effect the domain transfer.

It sounds like you wish to transfer the domain you purchased through Wix and use it on smulexicon.wordpress.com, is that correct? If so, these steps will guide you through that process:

You will need to purchase a paid plan and the domain credit included in that will cover the cost of the transfer — the transfer process can be started once you’ve upgraded. All of our paid plans include a domain credit, so you don’t have to choose Premium.
