Domain Transfer

  I refunded my plan for WordPress.com before unlocking my domain for transfer. Is there a way to get my domain unlocked for transfer to a new host after the refund?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi apinchofnostalgia,

  Cancelling a domain means giving up ownership so not something we recommend doing unless it is no longer needed. As apinchofnostalgia.com was cancelled so soon after registration, it should be released in around 5 days on a first come, first served basis.

  Only activate domains can be transferred. I can restore apinchofnostalgia.com if we act quickly but I will need to send a payment request for the domain first (since you have already been refunded). Once the domain has been restored, it can be transferred away from WordPress.com after 60 days — but it can be pointed to a new host until that time.

  The alternative is you wait for the domain to be released and then try to register it again elsewhere.

  Please let me know which option you would prefer.

  Hi gemmacevans,

  Thanks for the quick reply! Since the domain should be released so soon, I think I would rather go that route and wait for it to be released.
