  I have just purchased my domain from GoDaddy, should I transfer it to word press

  It’s up to you. Having purchased a domain at GoDaddy you could create a site there too. Alternatively you could create a site here at WordPress.com and purchase an upgraded plan. Then you could map your GoDaddy domain to the WordPress.com site.
