  i bought domain via godaddy. why do i have to transfer to wordpress?

  If you haven’y yet started a WordPress site but want to then you can either create one here at WordPress.com (and then map or transfer your domain to that site) or you can install the WordPress.org software at GoDaddy and create a site there. The choice is yours.
