Domain transfer

  Good evening,

  I am planning to upgrade my mother’s website to wordpress. She paid for her current domain and it is good for 3 years and we would want to keep the same domain if possible since she has many customers who order online. I need time to build the website before I completely transfer over since her business depends on it. What would be our best option? I was also looking at the steps to transfer and she does not now the domain password, how do I move forward with that?

  We do not know much about this, anything would help!

  Hi there,

  When you create a WordPress.com site we give you a free WordPress.com or .blog subdomain that’s yours for as long as you have the site. You can start building the site at that address until you’re ready to switch your custom domain over to us.

  I was also looking at the steps to transfer and she does not now the domain password, how do I move forward with that?

  You’ll need to contact the domain provider where the domain is registered for help with that.
