Domain Transfer

  I’ve paid for a years long subscription for my domain name with Dreamhost. Do I have to pay again(2x for one year) if I transfer my domain to WordPress from DH?

  Hi there,

  Yes, you do, as a paid WordPress.com plan is required to add your own domain to a WordPress.com site, and any fees you paid to Dreamhost does not cover any services we would provide to you.

  When you transfer a domain to us, the domain will also be renewed for another year, and you won’t lose any of the time you’ve already paid Dreamhost for on the domain.

  Also, do you know if the Lucille theme works for the lowest tier of the business/professional WordPress plans?

  Hi there,

  You will not be able to use the personal or professional plan since Lucille is a custom theme. You can only install custom themes with the Business Plan.
