Godaddy says you can help me. I accidentally purchased a 60 day locked in domain name with them. He said you could help me update the IP address of the wordpress blog in DNS of domain in order to keep the same domain name on the wordpress blog.

the domain I need help with is ‘sprinkleyourfamilytree.com’ When I asked
how to get the domain name transferred to wordpress they said it was locked
in for 60 days and then replied ‘You can create a blog and then you can
update the IP address of the blog in DNS domain”.When I said I didn’t know how to do this they said to ask WordPress. how.

Thanks for sharing. So, yes, you can use the domain here by pointing it to WordPress.com. That’s also referred to as domain mapping. Once the domain is 60 days old it can be transferred if you like. But the 60 day transfer is actually an ICANN regulation and not unique to GoDaddy.
Here’s how to set that domain up on WordPress.com.
1. Go to https://wordpress.com/pricing/
2. Add the personal plan to your account
3. Click on My Sites – Manage – Domains – Add NewThen, at GoDaddy’s side of things, you need to add these name servers to the domain.
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMAs described in step #2 here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Ah ok, you can map that domain here following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
We don’t do mapping via IP address, only via name servers, and those are listed there.
