DOMAIN TRANSFER HELP

I am writing again, since WordPress does not offer telephone support. I have a domain registered with WordPress.com that I would like to transfer to Square Space. I have tried changing the A Record and the CNAME Record AND waited the 48 hours. Still no luck. My domain’s public records indicate that WP used Wild West Domains, LLC to register my domain. I contacted them on their helpful support line but they do not have access to my records because of the way WP set it up. I have been working on this for a week and need TIMELY help.

Hi there, Wild West Domains is our registrar partner, but your domain is registered through us.
If you’d like to point your domain to Squarespace, you have two options:
1) Transfer your domain to the domain registrar of your choice and then make the necessary DNS updates to point the domain to Squarespace.
2) I can make the DNS edits for you in your domain control panel if that’s alright with you.
If you’d like to go ahead with #2, could you please confirm that weekendingblog.com is the domain you’d like pointed to Squarespace. Could you also please let me know the IP address they’ve supplied for your DNS records. Thanks!

I’m seeing your Squarespace site live already: http://weekendingblog.com/
If you’re not seeing it yet, you may need to wait until DNS fully propagates, or you can try clearing your browser’s cache.

I cleared my browser cache but mine still takes me to my wordpress site. So strange – my husband says he can pull the new one up from work. Hm it’s obviously my computer! Thank you for all your help!!!

You may want to try another browser where you haven’t loaded your site recently, like Firefox or Chrome.
If it’s still a problem in all browsers after 24 hours or so you could try clearing your Mac’s local DNS cache – just let me know your operating system if that happens and I’ll let you know how to do it.

Hi again!
My domain transferred and had been working great since we last spoke! But today it suddenly stopped working and now says safari “cannot find server”. SquareSpace can’t assist within WordPress but they said it looks like I need to change A Record and CNAME and that changing my hostname (which was changed) is incorrect. Any suggestions?

Hi! There seems to be a problem with your zone record file. I’m investigating and will keep you posted. Apologies for the inconvenience.
You can also transfer your domain to another registrar – it’s something we actually recommend if you’re not keeping your site hosted with WordPress.com. Let me know if you have any questions about this option.
