Domain transfer question

Hi, I have a domain with a current site in use. And I am wondering to transfer my old domain to wordpress.com and use wordpress.com to generate a new site with my current domain. If I am going to do that, which plan should i upgrade and what will happen to my original site? Will the old site just be covered by the new site that i edited on WordPress.com?

Hi there,
We’re not able to accept incoming domain transfers at the moment, so to use that domain with a WordPress.com site you’ll need to keep it at your current provider and point it here instead via a process called domain mapping:

All of our plans include a free domain credit which you can use to map an existing domain.
So you’ll start by creating a free site – you already have one in http://cmrconsulting.wordpress.com/
Next go to My Site ->Plans and purchase the plan you want to use. Lastly go to My Site ->Domains ->Add to add the domain you want to map.
If you currently have content at your domain that you want to move over to WordPress.com, make sure you first export that and import it to your WordPress.com site before you point the domain to us. You can find a detailed guide on how to do that here:
