Domain transfer UNLOCK

    A gent re-designed our website for us. He kind of stuffed it up not adding the correct information where is should go. He sent me the WP login details and FTP details but I can’t access the domain settings in order to unlock the domain so that it can be transferred. I did contact him to request that he unlocks it but needless to say, I have not had any feedback. is there a way I can unlock the domain and get an access code with the WP-admin login details or even the FTP details?

    Hi there!
    If your domain is registered with wordpress.com here are details on unlocking it for a transfer: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

    If your domain is not registered with wordpress.com you will need the login details for your domain registrar. You won’t be able to manage your domain name from the WordPress admin or FTP.

    I tried the method on the link but the login details he provided doesn’t identify there. Only on the admin area. Seems like the site editor.

    He said it was with wordpress but according to whois, it’s with tucow?

    This may help you find exactly how to get help with the domain: https://tucowsdomains.com/

    You can enter your domain name and it should tell you how to get support from them. Tucows typically uses many domain resellers, this should help you track down which reseller it is actually registered with.
