Domain Unavailable

    I recently deleted a domain in order to make it available for the site I am trying to build, but on the other site I am receiving a message that the domain is still unavailable. Is there an expected wait time for the domain to become available again, or any way to expedite the domain becoming available again? Thank you!

    Hi there!

    A domain does not become available if you cancel it. In fact, it goes through several stages until its expiry date, and you risk eventually losing it forever. You should never cancel a domain if you plan to use it even with another host. You can transfer the domain instead.

    If you confirm, we can restore your WordPress.com site and the domain to your WordPress.com account, so you can follow the proper steps for transferring the domain.
