Domain was renewed for the year then suddenly now it's saying expired buT
-
But I can’t access it to renew? My host says it’s registered through a site that’s never heard of me (or me them) and everyone points the finger to the next guy and it’s this giant circle and all I’ve got from wordpress for support is a forum?
Help. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
I checked with our registrar and sarahnicolelemon.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.
Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance. Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.
I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.
Please visit the support page link for further instructions:
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

yeah, it auto-renewed on Nov. 30, 2016 so why am I in redemption period
And yes I’d like to renew immediately but there’s no option to on my account -
It was working perfectly fine up until two days ago. Previous auto-renewals were for a year.
Our records show that the last auto renew for the domain occurred on:
2015-12-02 00:34:22Do you happen to have a receipt of your last renewal? I’d be happy to take a look into this for you if that is the case. Thanks!

Hi there,
I just contacted the registrar to see if we can restore sarahnicolelemon.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.
Again, let me know if you have record of a 2016 renewal, and we’ll wave the fee.
I will let you know once I hear back from the registrar.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

All i have is the email saying it was auto renewing and I didn’t have to do anything. Other than that I’d have to look at bank records which I don’t have right this second. Just tell me how to fix it.
-
I can screenshot the email with big bold letters that says you don’t have to do anything, but I don’t know how to attach it in here

When I try to renew the domain, wordpress says I can’t because it’s hosted elsewhere. But my host (Blue Host) says it’s owned by WILD WEST and they can’t touch it. Wild West says you are the customer and I can’t touch it. So I have no idea how to fix this.

Hi there,
Yes, Wild West Domains is our registry partners that we use to register domains that you purchased from us. That is who I contacted in regards to getting your domain back. I should have the domain for you within 24 hours.
I looked into the issue of payment and I saw that we received a Paypal error 10417:
PayPal 10417 is “Transaction cannot complete – Instruct the customer to retry the transaction using an alternative payment method from the customer’s PayPal wallet”, or “The transaction did not complete with the customer’s selected payment method.”
The most likely cause for this error is that the customer’s credit card failed bank authorization. You should instruct the customer that PayPal is unable to process the payment and display alternative payment methods that the customer can use.
So, the renewal failed. You most likely received an email in regards to the rejected transaction – we usually send them out within a few days of a failed renewal.
I’ll keep you updated on when the domain is restored.
Thanks,
-
I definitely don’t have an email in my records, either from PayPal or wordpress. After the notice of auto renewal, the only emails I received from wordpress were site update emails leading me to believe everything was operating as normal.

thank you for taking care of it. Will there be a way for me to update all the settings for auto renewal once the domain is restored? Right now there’s no way for me to access anything about the domain in my account.

Yes, you will be able to set up auto renew for your upgrade once it is restored. For more information on setting up auto renew, please visit our support page:

We’ve heard back from our domain provider and they were able to retrieve your domain. I’ve sent a message to the email address associated with your account with a link that you can use to pay for the renewal and late fee.
If you have any more questions, you can reply to that email.
-
Hi! I repaid immediately. However I would request I be refunded the $80 fee as I had auto renewal set up, was notified the auto renewal would occur, and was not notified of any problem with the payment, despite continuing to receive emails from WordPress about site updates and logging and having no alert or notice of an expired domain. Thank you!
