"Domains are not available for this site."

    Hello,

I am trying to link my WordPress site to a domain I already own through Google Domains. I upgraded my free plan to a “Personal” plan in order to do this, yet am still receiving “Domains are not available for this site.

Did I miss something? As I thought that upgrading my account would enable this feature.

Assistance much appreciated, thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

You bought a Jetpack Personal plan for the self-hosted site, http://valdezwright.com/

Domain mapping can only be added as part of the WordPress.com Personal plan on a WordPress.com site. You don’t have any WordPress.com sites in your account.

    Hello Kokkieh,

Thanks for the response. Ok that makes sense. I think my confusion was down to having WordPress plugins for my site that I now realize is hosted elsewhere.

This is what happens when non-techy business people try to be self sufficient to save money!

    Kind regards,
    Adam

  • If you did not mean to buy the Jetpack plan I can still refund that for you. But it does add some features to your site that you might be able to use:
