Domains, Hosting and losing the wordpress name from my site

So, I’m giving it a shot. Building my own website. Reviews have said that WP is best platform. Questions I have are:
If they are providing the domain (a paid plan) for free year one what does year two cost?
If I am on a paid plan why when I go to pay for the site does ‘wordpress’ still show up in the name of the site?
Are they providing the hosting in a paid plan? If not who is/will be hosting and at what cost and how is it paid for? Monthly, yearly, and is that lump sum?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
    1. The cost of your domain is included for the first year in every plan and in the second year you’ll pay for renewal of your plan and your domain separately. The charge for the domain renewal depends on what TLD you’ve chosen. You can see the TLD list and pricing here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/

    2. Once you upgrade to a plan and select and configure your TLD, your TLD will display in the browser address line, not the underlying mysite.wordpress.com address.

    3. Hosting is free across the board. Upgrade plans add features https://en.support.wordpress.com/plan-features/ and are paid for for a full year (or two) at checkout. You’ll need to continue paying for your plan and domain renewal in order to use your custom domain on your WordPressdotcom website.

All plans come with a 30-day from date of purchase refund except for custom domains, which need to be cancelled within 48 hours of purchase in order to be eligible for a refund. Here’s more on the refund policy: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/

Hope that helps answer your questions, but let us know if you have any other after reading those support guides.
