Domains seem to have been hijacked
-
I started creating a blog on WordPress.com , but at the end I cancelled as I thought I’d finish it later. Now my own personal 2 domains (which are nothing to do with wordpress) seem to have been hijacked and when I try to go to my website, all I get is a page with ‘Just another WordPress site’ and a message ‘Page Not found’. What is happening?

I don’t see any history of domain names under your account.
What are the domain names you’re referring to?

Hi Macmanx
I’ve never created any domains under my account.
I created the account Amazingnigel yesterday (19th Feb 2020). I then started the process of building a blog, to see how it works. I’m not ready to actually use it yet, so I closed the page when I got to the prompt for a domain name, intending to come back later and continue when I’m ready.
Since I was in the middle of making updates to my websites, I then tried to access my websites and found they seem to be redirected to a WordPress “page not found” error page saying “AmazingNigel Just another WordPress site”
To see if I could recover from this, I deleted my amazingnigel account (which is why I’m now logged in as AmazingNigel2) , but that seems to have made no difference.
The domains that seem to have been affected are :
http://www.amazingnigel.me.uk
and
http://www.nigelstevensberkhamsted.co.ukI’ve checked my files on my ISP’s webspace and they are all as I left them, so it seems some sort of redirection is going on here.

1. Let’s get that account restored. If it was deleted less than 30 days ago it won’t be an issue. When the account was deleted we sent an email notification to you about that. Write back to the email letting us know it was an error and that you need it to be restored.
2. Once the account is restored we can work on the rest of the questions.
3. Sign in to the restored account and write back to us here so we can work on the sites in question.

Many thanks for your help, but the problem seems to have been resolved now.
When I saw the error page that said “just another WordPress site” and “Page not found”, I assumed that the message was from yourselves. However, it seems the error message was somehow from my ISP’s WordPress app (which I had just started looking at).
After checking my domain url forwarding settings and clearing my browser’s cache, everything seems to be as expected, although I still don’t know what happened.

Glad to hear that everything is working properly now. Please let us know if any other issues arise.
Thanks,
