Hi there,
It’s really a matter of preference. If you transfer the domain to us you’ll be able to manage your site and domain in one place, and you’ll only have to remember to pay one provider for both, so in my opinion that’s the more convenient option.
If you map the domain to us you’ll have to log in at your domain provider to make changes to the domain itself, and you’ll have to pay them to renew it. Many people prefer to keep the two separate, though.
It also depends on whether you have many custom DNS records for email, subdomains, etc configured on your domain already – we try to import those automatically when you transfer a domain to us, but that doesn’t always work, or you might have a complex DNS setup that we don’t necessarily support.
But if you’re not doing anything funny with your domain and just have a standard setup, it really just comes down to what you’d prefer to do.
