donate

    Hi!

I need help with our donate page.

If you look at the current setup of the page it is a flatform that does not populate a DB and then a link to an external paypal page. The info from the form does NOT map to the info collected at paypal.

I’d really like to use the ‘Give’ plugin but I realize that does not seem to be an option.

What is a good solution so we can have a spreadsheet that tells us the name, email, donation amount (should have date too) and also send out email receipts for donation amount?

    please advise. thank you!

  • Hi there,

There is no way to automatically capture this type of information on WordPress.com. All you can use here is a basic PayPal Buy Now or Donate button. Clicking this button takes the user to PayPal where they complete the payment. No information whatsoever is captured on our end during this process.

The only way to capture the information you want is to include a contact form along with your button, but there is no way to force someone to complete the form when they make a donation, and you’ll have to manually reconcile any form submissions you do receive with the payments appearing in your PayPal account.
