Don't offer a currency if your checkout is going to say it is 'unsupported'

I’m only offered AUD in my checkout with no way to change it. When i try to make a purchase it says the currency is unsupported and it won’t go through. I’m not stupid, there is no way around this.

That is odd. We have many customers who pay in AUD.
I think what may have happened is that one of your upgrades is set up in AUD and the others are in USD. Can I assume you are located in AUS?

Yes I’m in Aus and my credit cards are all in Aus dollars. But when I went to purchase a domain it said ‘this cannot be processed due to an unsupported currency’. It even opened a popup window at the beginning saying that ‘wordpress now takes aud, would you like to change your currency?’

We’ve had reports that if you try to use an American Express card and your currency isn’t US dollars, you’ll end up with that error. I’m sorry about that! Our team is aware of the issue.
For now, if you have another one of our accepted payment methods, I’d recommend using that instead. If not, please let me know what you’d like to purchase and I can send you a payment request in US dollars so you can pay with your American Express card.
