  Hi, I’m going through the volunteer support post as I wanted to become a volunteer at WordPress.com. I can’t understand how can a volunteer use a “modlook” tag and flagging a thread and also how to know whether a site is hosted by .com or .org. I know I am asking the precious time of our staff but I damn interested in becoming a WordPress volunteer.

  Good morning –

  My suggestion, based on this post, is that you start using WordPress.com and have a site set up that you can test on in order to help users. Gaining some personal experience will help you better support our community.

  There are things that need staff attention. Adding the Modlook tag moves the thread in to a staff queue. These are things like refunds, accounts, domains…

  There are sites that will display public domain details and the name servers will generally indicate who is hosting a site.
