Download files from wordpresssite

  Some of my blog viewers (they are listed as authors) can’t download the files that I uploaded for them (I made links to the uploaded documents in a . They keep getting a screen that asks them to log in (while they are already logged in). How can I solve this problem?

  What format are the files? Are they embedded in the blog or just put in the media library?

  They are in doc and pdf form. They are embedded in one of the blog pages.
  I have written a text and inserted links to the files within the text. Some of my students can just click on them and they will upload, others are asked to sign in, but nothing happens after that.
