Drawing attention to new addition on home page
-
I am trying to draw attention to a new web page posted on the right hand side of my home page. I wanted something simple, as in, using the word, “NEW” or “UPDATED” in red font. However, the font color options in the Visual Editor only seems to apply to the body text and not to webpage titles.
So two questions:
1) Is there a way to change the font color on the TITLE of a webpage, not within the body of the page itself?2) Failing that, is there some way to draw attention to this new page? Can I insert an arrow, a sticker, a sunburst, something, anything, that would make returning readers go – “Hey, look! There’s something new here!”
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

This is what I get when I click your username:
WordPress.com
The authors have deleted this blog. The content is no longer available.(1) Assuming you do have a “living” wordpress.com blog, then the answer is the only way the color of the fonts in the title field can be changed is by purchasing an annually renewable CSS upgrade and doing the CSS editing yourself. This upgrade is only recommended to those who have HTML and CSS editing skills as there is no Staff support and very little Volunteers support for it.
(2) I cannot see your blog and cannot see what theme you use. In many themes the static Pages have tabs on the horizontal menu and I have told you the only way the font color can be changed.
You can place either an image widget or a text widget at the top of your sidebar and link the “sunburst” image or whatever attention getting image you use in it to the new Page.

You can add the html for various symbols in the title box. See here for more:
