Drop down options in custom form cannot be deleted

  Using Firefox 20.0.1 when editing a page with a contact form and drop down selectors, trying to remove an option from the drop down does not work. I ended up editing the code manually. It doesn’t work either in IE 8.0.6 and Chrome 26.0. Win XP SP 2.
