Duplicate Account
-
It seems I’ve accidentally made a duplicate account – one account I am currently using (with my website URL ending in .com) and it hosts my site I am actively using, and the other inactive one when I log in just takes me to the basic login page prompting me to continue setting up my site (and it shows the URL ending for it as wordpress.com). I want to delete the inactive account but don’t want that to accidentally delete my actual website…..how do I do it safely?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @afbtranscription, it looks like you have a copy of WordPress with another host, as well as a free site hosted here. As far as I can tell, your DIY copy of WordPress isn’t using an of our services, so you can delete the site and close this account if you won’t be using it for anything else now or in the future. That won’t affect your other site:
https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/Here’s the difference between our hosting service and your own copy of WordPress.
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/#overview-of-optionsYou can also just stop email notifications and make this account and site private if you’d like, so that if you ever decide to use our services, your desired username will be available; it will not be available if you delete it, since deleting a username and address will permanently deactivate them.
